BF-F9 V2+ power to 8 watts

Postby DrakoWarkan » Sat Jan 03, 2015 7:19 am

I an new to this site and to the Ham world, I got a Baofeng BF-F9 V2+ radio and it only has two menu power settings High and Low this is NOT what the add showed it stated tri power (1W/4W/8W) switchable.

My question is how do you set the Baofeng BF-F9 V2+ to transmit at 8Watts?

I am very disappointed as I wanted to use this radio for my EMS rescue and tactical duties.

Thanks for any help. :(

In the power setting I had low/med/High. If resetting doesn't work I would say return it for another one.

Look for TXP in MENU.. Use the arrows to find TXP.. When found, push TXP again to select it. Look for either HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW in the lower part of the display. If you don't see those choices, you may not have a valid BF-F9 V2 as I do! By default, the HIGH is shown unless you've programmed it with CHIRP. Hope this helps.
